TURN, TURN, TURN

I have been writing this blog which might give some the mistaken impression that I am high tech... but such is not the case.  Just a few minutes ago my iphone suddenly began to play a song that Rhonda asked me to download for her while she was in the ICU a few weeks ago.  I didn't even know how to download a song until Rhonda, in one of her seemingly semi-lucid moments, asked for Judy Collins' Turn, Turn, Turn song. By the time I figured out how to download the song to my phone and started to play it Rhonda was no longer awake...  So, a few minutes ago that song just started playing from my phone.  I hadn't even used the music function of the phone since I downloaded Rhonda's request.  The lyrics just seem so poetic.  Rhonda could be quite poetic, especially in her presentations about giving and recieving bad news.

TURN, TURN, TURN (originally by The Byrds)

To Everything (Turn, Turn, Turn)
There is a season (Turn, Turn, Turn)
And a time to every purpose, under Heaven

A time to be born, a time to die
A time to plant, a time to reap
A time to kill, a time to heal
A time to laugh, a time to weep

To Everything (Turn, Turn, Turn)
There is a season (Turn, Turn, Turn)
And a time to every purpose, under Heaven

A time to build up,a time to break down
A time to dance, a time to mourn
A time to cast away stones, a time to gather stones together

To Everything (Turn, Turn, Turn)
There is a season (Turn, Turn, Turn)
And a time to every purpose, under Heaven

A time of love, a time of hate
A time of war, a time of peace
A time you may embrace, a time to refrain from embracing

To Everything (Turn, Turn, Turn)
There is a season (Turn, Turn, Turn)
And a time to every purpose, under Heaven

A time to gain, a time to lose
A time to rend, a time to sew
A time for love, a time for hate
A time for peace, I swear it's not too late

  1. The Midlevels and Residents working tonite honored Rhonda in the Doctor's lounge this evening. Dr. Weintraub played "Turn, Turn, Turn" from her I-phone and we had a moment of silence before our meal. This was followed by the sharing of our fond memories of working with Rhonda.
